About us

Charlie bought the farm with his late wife Lisa in 1998 and swiftly set about breeding, rearing and training horses. Set in the limestone Cotswold hills, the farm offers some of the best grazing in England and has been home to some of the very best. 25 years has seen two stallions, four children and thousands of horses leave their mark on the property. A mixed farm with cows and sheep rotating on the pasture and with premium care it provides an ideal place for equine to foal, spell or rehab.

Now set across two farms with live feed foaling cameras, year round turnout and regular, foaling and mixed boxes, the farm can accommodate growing numbers.

Since 2000 our stallions have covered 200 polo mares including many of the legendary-champion ponies from the high goal.  Another 100 more sent to us with embryo’s inside.  That’s a lot of progeny playing polo today that started their lives on the limestone hills at Colgate Farm.
